Privacy Policy
Effective April 21, 2026
This policy describes what information Circle collects when you use the app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Your Solana wallet public address (used to identify your merchant account and bind your session). Business profile you enter: business name, optional legal name, timezone, jurisdiction, tax ID (optional), accountant email (optional), and any logo you choose to upload. Operational settings: tax defaults, item catalog, saved tickets. Transaction metadata generated by your own sales: transaction signatures (already public on-chain), USD values captured at payment time, item and modifier selections, and ledger timestamps. A device fingerprint to bind your access token to this device.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect customer personal information — Circle never sees who your customers are. We do not access your contacts, photo library beyond images you explicitly pick for an item, microphone, or precise location. We do not track you across other apps or services. We do not collect advertising identifiers. We do not ask for, store, or transmit your private keys or seed phrase at any point.
How we use your information
To operate the Circle service: authenticate you, render your register and cart, build your payment requests, record sales to your ledger, generate reports, and produce exports. To debug problems when they occur. To comply with law if legally required.
How we share it
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We rely on service providers (cloud hosting, RPC providers, price oracles, Arweave for permanent image storage) to operate the app, and your data flows through those providers only to the extent needed. On-chain transaction data is inherently public on the Solana blockchain; Circle does not control that.
Where it lives
Your profile, catalog, ledger, and tickets are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database. Uploaded images are stored permanently on Arweave via Irys. Authentication tokens are stored encrypted on your device using the operating system's secure storage (Android Keystore). Transport is encrypted with TLS.
How long we keep it
We keep your records until you request deletion, so your ledger remains intact across tax seasons. Images you upload to Arweave are permanent by design and cannot be deleted from Arweave; you can remove the reference from your catalog at any time, but the underlying image URL may remain accessible on the Arweave network.
Your rights
Export: you can download your full sales ledger and reports from within the app at any time. Correct: you can edit your profile and editable ledger fields (category, note, tax) through the app. Delete: you can request deletion of your account and non-blockchain records by contacting us; note that on-chain transaction data cannot be deleted.
Children
Circle is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
International users
By using Circle you consent to the processing of your information as described here, which may involve transfer to, storage in, and processing in, countries other than your own.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of Circle after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
